The Kenyan Goals Medical and Sports Camp, embodies our commitment to community upliftment and empowerment. This annual week-long program, held in a rural Kenyan village, brings together fourteen communities for a celebration of talent and well-being. Participants engage in various sports activities, including soccer, volleyball, and netball, while also benefiting from health and leadership education, essential health services such as HIV counseling and testing, optometry, dental exams, and educational sessions on cultural issues linked to HIV/AIDS transmission.
As we gear up for the 2024 event, slated for August 11th-18th, our mission remains clear—to provide comprehensive support and empowerment to the Dago community. With your support, we aim to amplify the impact of our initiatives, extending our reach and making a lasting difference in the lives of thousands.
There are numerous ways to get involved and support our cause. You can donate towards the summer medical camp, join us in Kenya for the event, volunteer as an ambassador for Friends of Dago, or contribute medical and sports equipment donations. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a meaningful difference in our efforts to uplift and empower the Dago community.
By donating to our cause, you’ll be directly contributing to vital services such as medication, sports supplies, medical expenses, first aid training, eye check-ups with glasses, dental equipment, and medications, HIV/AIDS kits with counselors, event materials, and management. Your generosity will help us raise the $18,500 needed to make this year’s event a resounding success.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization, and we welcome individuals from all walks of life to join us in our mission. Whether you’re a medical practitioner, a family looking to make a difference, a college or university student group, or a church or mission group, there’s a place for you at Friends of Dago.
As we look ahead to the 2024 Kenyan Goals Medical and Sports Camp, we’re filled with excitement and anticipation for the impact we can make together. Through partnerships, donations, and volunteerism, we’re confident that we can continue to uplift and empower the Dago community, one goal, one game, and one life at a time. Join us on this incredible journey towards positive change and transformation. Together, we can make a difference that lasts a lifetime.

A week-long program is held annually in a rural Kenyan village. Fourteen communities gather to compete in various sports activities (soccer, volleyball, and netball), while thousands of community members show their support. The area receives health and leadership education, vital health services such as HIV counseling and testing, optometry, and dental exams, and is offered general medical treatment. We also have educational pieces on major cultural issues supporting the spread of HIV/AIDS, including, but not limited to, wife inheritance, polygamy, human rights, substance abuse, and more. This year, we are adding environmental education and activities to the program.
We offer medical services to over 95% of people who otherwise do not get any medical
check-ups.
● We keep the HIV/AIDS awareness campaign alive.
● We offer Voluntary Counseling and Testing to the youths.
● We keep alive the awareness of some major practices that enable the spread of HIV/AIDS
● amongst families (i.e., a campaign against wife inheritance and polygamy).
● Over 14 communities get together to celebrate talents through sports competitions.
During this 6-day camp, we use volunteers who offer their services to the people. Local and guest
volunteers spend about 6 hours a day providing various services to the people. Some of the
activities include:
● We offer general medical services to the people
● We provide dental services to the people.
● We offer eye checkups to people.
● We offer voluntary counseling and testing for HIV/AIDS.

camps. We have always targeted the area’s youth and newly married couples. The elders have
always been supportive and embraced this event wholeheartedly. The beneficiaries include:

● Families that are struggling with drugs and alcohol abuse.
● 95% of the people don’t receive regular medical checkups.
