A Community-Led Development Model
Dago Dala Hera Self Help Group and community leaders identify priorities, guide implementation, and steward local relationships. Friends of Dago helps connect those priorities to resources, partners, technical support, and long-term global relationships.
This structure keeps decision-making close to the people most affected while creating a responsible bridge for donors, institutions, universities, volunteers, and other partners.

Six Pathways, One Long-Term Vision
Each pathway addresses a distinct community priority while reinforcing the others.
1. Learning & Life
Early learning, school support, feeding, scholarships, vocational pathways, and higher-education opportunities that help children and young people move from care toward independence.
2. Nutrition, Agriculture & Environment
Food security, poultry, dairy, beekeeping, gardens, greenhouses, tree nurseries, and environmental stewardship that strengthen household and community resilience.
3. Women’s Economic Empowerment
Savings groups, enterprise development, microfinance, financial literacy, and locally rooted opportunities designed to strengthen women, households, and the wider local economy.
4. Youth Leadership, Sports & Health
Sports, leadership development, peer mentoring, health education, and community spaces that help young people build confidence, wellbeing, responsibility, and voice.
5. Housing, Sanitation & Dignity
Housing support, sanitation, hygiene, toilets, and essential community infrastructure that protect health, safety, dignity, and quality of life.
6. Ethical Global Learning & Partnerships
Dago365, university engagement, volunteers, institutional partnerships, and ethical learning experiences that connect people to community priorities without displacing local leadership.
