Looking for volunteer opportunities in Kenya? Dago365 welcomes interest in ethical, skills-based volunteering as well as community-led service-learning and cultural exchange. Explore education, nutrition, agriculture, youth activities, women’s livelihoods, environment and other locally identified priorities. Every volunteer role is discussed with the local host and program owner before any placement is confirmed.
Dago365 is Friends of Dago’s community-led global-learning and exchange program. Explore life in Dago, western Kenya, through reciprocal learning, family and community hospitality, and relationships shaped by local priorities.
Planning a visit in 2027? We welcome expressions of interest from individuals, families, diaspora visitors, universities, professional teams, and community or faith groups. Local hosts and program partners review each proposed visit before any itinerary is confirmed.

A relationship-first experience
Dago Dala Hera and community hosts help determine local priorities and appropriate activities; Friends of Dago coordinates global engagement and stewardship. Independent partners retain leadership of their own programs. A visit may include learning about education, nutrition and agriculture, women’s livelihoods, youth leadership, community health, or dignity infrastructure, depending on local agreement and participants’ preparation.
Community leads
Visitors come to listen, learn, and share skills. They do not independently select beneficiaries, direct community programs, or gain automatic access to schools or children.
Preparation matters
Participation may require orientation, activity-appropriate screening, insurance, safeguarding commitments, and a confirmed host and itinerary. Access to homes, schools, partner-led programs, or health activities requires separate approval.
An illustrative two-week learning rhythm
Every visit is designed with local hosts. This is an example of how a two-week learning exchange could be structured, not a confirmed itinerary or an offer of access to any specific project.
Arrive & listen
Travel, host welcome, practical orientation and conversations about the community’s priorities.
Learn & exchange
Locally guided learning visits and, where approved, an appropriately supervised contribution matched to the group’s skills.
Reflect & follow through
Exchange feedback with hosts, document learning with consent, agree responsible follow-up and prepare for departure.
The 2027 program
Standard two-week Dago365 program fee: US$3,500 per participant. Browse the proposed 2027 departure start dates by month and express interest in a window that fits your schedule. These are planning dates, not confirmed departures; group capacity and participation are subject to local host approval and an individual written offer. Booking, accommodation, the return date and specific activities are confirmed in each participant’s written offer. Lodging, transport, inclusions and exclusions, optional excursions, payment terms, and group-specific arrangements are established in the written offer for each approved visit. An inquiry is not a booking or payment request.
Rooted in a history of exchange
Dago365 formalizes earlier community and global-learning relationships. Historical engagements involving Village Volunteers, Toronto Metropolitan University/Ryerson student groups, Rollins College, UNC-linked Harambee participants, and University of Evansville campus groups helped inform this approach. Earlier visits are not presented as completed Dago365 cohorts.
