Dago is a living community, not a visitor attraction. Learn about the place, the people who host learning exchanges, and practical ways to prepare for a respectful visit.
Dago Kogelo is in Migori County, western Kenya. Dago365 connects visitors with local hosts and community-led initiatives where a visit is appropriate. Start with an inquiry before making arrangements for accommodation or community activities.
Accommodation at the Odoyo family compound
The Odoyo family compound has a documented history of welcoming visitors in a working-farm and family setting. Historical guides describe guest rooms, shared facilities and meals with hosts. Earlier photographs document separate guest-room-style buildings and shared indoor spaces. The family residence, guest accommodation and community facilities are distinct.
What your confirmed accommodation offer will include
Before you commit to a visit, we will confirm the sleeping arrangement, room sharing or privacy, bathroom and shower facilities, drinking water, meals, electricity and connectivity, accessibility considerations, host contacts and any additional costs. Historic bed and room counts are not a guarantee of 2027 availability. A current, host-approved accommodation gallery will be added after room and facilities details are checked.
Community life and learning
A visit may include hosted conversations about farming, nutrition, education, local entrepreneurship, women’s livelihoods, village history, and community projects. Activities depend on local priorities and permission from the people who lead them. School access, contact with children, home visits, health activities and partner-led programs are never automatic.
Getting to Dago
International visitors typically arrive through a Kenyan international airport before traveling onward to western Kenya. Domestic flight, road-transfer and local-transport options depend on the approved itinerary. Do not book nonrefundable onward travel or assume airport pickup is included until your written itinerary and arrangements are confirmed. Detailed host contacts and meeting instructions will be shared privately with confirmed participants.
Prepare for everyday life
Before your departure
Verify Kenya entry requirements and any travel-health advice through current official sources and a qualified travel-health professional. Discuss your dates, dietary needs and accessibility requirements when inquiring. Confirm suitable travel medical insurance and follow the cohort-specific orientation issued for your visit.
While you are here
Expect a rural setting and a schedule shaped by the hosts and community. Bring suitable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, essential medication and a reliable way to communicate. Ask before photographing people or private spaces, recording stories, giving gifts, or posting about anyone online; respect the privacy of children, families and hosts.

Optional travel beyond Dago
A wider Kenya itinerary or safari may be discussed separately with an appropriately authorized travel provider. A Maasai Mara visit or other excursion is not automatically included in the standard $3,500 Dago365 fee. Any such activity and its price must be specified in the written offer.
