Purpose and community benefits
Goat rearing contributes to local agriculture and may support household assets, nutrition and resilience. Current distribution, milk or other production and income should be verified before being counted as achieved outcomes.

Friends of Dago’s September 2026 Pathway 2 evidence brief and transitional impact report record local leadership’s account of the project’s 2009 origins and continuation. Historical proposal figures are not represented as current inventories or completed livestock distributions.
Leadership and partner recognition
Dago Dala Hera and local participating households guide animal care and livelihoods. Friends of Dago supports locally agreed priorities through appropriate partnerships and resource stewardship rather than claiming ownership of all household animals.
Historical milestones · 2009–2013 livestock pathway
The March 2009 Heifer Project International Kenya report lists dairy-goat placements among the project’s planned next steps and records ten families preparing livestock units and fodder; it does not confirm those goat placements had occurred by that reporting date. The July 2013 Dago Dala Hera committee report subsequently records a volunteer contribution of 21 dairy goats and one male goat. This is dated historical distribution evidence; it should not be mistaken for the present-day active goat count or assigned to Heifer without support from the relevant contribution record.
