DAGO KOGELO · WESTERN KENYA

Dago Dala Hera

A home of love. A future shaped by the community.

Rooted in Dago Kogelo, this Kenyan community organization brings people together around education, care, livelihoods, and dignity—guided by local leadership.

From women-led care to enduring community action.

Dago Dala Hera grew from women and families organizing care during the HIV/AIDS crisis. Their commitment to children and vulnerable households became the foundation for education, nourishment, livelihoods, and community wellbeing.

The group was formally registered in 2002. Its community centre became known as the Home of Love—an enduring expression of care, dignity, and collective responsibility.

Local leadership is the starting point.

Community members identify needs, organize solutions, guide day-to-day implementation, and build on knowledge already present in Dago.

Friends of Dago walks alongside this Kenyan organization by connecting community-defined priorities with resources, partners, and long-term support.

OUR HISTORY IS STILL BEING WRITTEN

The Home of Love is more than a place.

The Home of Love grew from a practical belief: people can build lasting opportunities when they organize and care for one another.

Its evolving history is documented through community records, locally told accounts, and appropriately cleared photographs.
